Pilemark was started because commercial carpets were getting "cleaned" with underpowered portable equipment — plug-in wand systems barely strong enough for a living room. On commercial carpet those systems get the top surface clean for a week and then the carpet looks worse than before. Soil that was loosened but not extracted re-wicks to the surface as the carpet dries. Eventually the carpet is ruined and the property manager blames the carpet, not the cleaning method.

Pilemark runs truck-mount hot water extraction equipment. Higher water temperature (around 200°F at the wand), much higher vacuum recovery, enough power to clean to the carpet backing and extract the soil rather than redistribute it. Combined with pre-spray pre-treatment, fiber-type-matched methods, and engineered air movers for fast dry, the carpet actually recovers instead of just surfacing clean.

Every technician is IICRC-trained (Carpet Cleaning Technician and Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician credentials). Stain protocols are documented, not guessed — oxidizer for tannin, reducer for metal-based, enzyme for protein, solvent for oily.
